What is Parcel Tracking
Australia Post tracks parcels as they travel through their freight network. The delivery status of your parcel can be checked on the Australia Post Delivery Tracking website at http://www.ausposttracking.com.au/
How it works.
Each parcel carries a barcoded, which is scanned once it reaches your local delivery center (one day Australia Post may scan the parcel when they receive them from us, unfortunately this is not the case yet)
A tracking record for your parcel should appear around the expected delivery day when your parcel arrives at your local delivery centre.
Australia Post collects parcel from our warehouse each afternoon and they are taken to our local parcel centre and sent on from there.
Your parcel number is included on your shipping confirmation email. eg.

NB: For Registered Post parcels we include an RP in front of the number this is not a part of the Australia Post article id and you will need to remove this RP from your article number to find it in the Australia Post system.
Once the parcel has reach your local delivery centre a scan event will be created and checking at http://www.ausposttracking.com.au using your Article number XXXXXXXXX number will show you something like this:

The local parcel contractor in your area will attempt to deliver your parcel and on delivery a signature is required (for registered and eparcel articles). If no one is at the delivery address to receive the parcel a card will be left advising that the parcel can be collected from the nearest post office.
